On Saturday, April 16 we arived at camp to help with some of the work being done for the provincial Jamboree. We were hoping to help build the 100 picnic tables needed but there was enough adults there so we were asked to cut the trees down where the shower building is going. Josh, John and Grant spent the morning with Advisor Gerald cutting down the trees in this area and moving the limbs and logs off to the side. Josh's Dad was up with the big linetruck and two other linesmen installing wires, lights and a transformer for the Jamboree. After lunch we went up to the upper edge of the camp to cut trees that were in the way of wires that had to be installed. After this, we went back to the future shower building area and quit around 4:30. Jay arrived around 3:00 and Josh left with his Dad for home just before Supper. On the way back to the old leaders building where we were to stay, we were asked to help move the cut lumber closer to the men who were making the tables. Finally by around 6:30 we got a chance to clean out our building and then head to the Ranchouse to cook our suppers. We spent some time around the campfire with a scout troop that was in from Halifax but could only last till about 10:30 which is when we hit the hay. On Sunday after breakfest we buried the repaired telephone wire by the driveway to the ranchouse. Andrew had arrived to give us a hand. After this we watched one of the adults who who had a chainsaw even bigger then Gerald's cut down a huge spruce tree that ended up not falling 90 degrees from where we wanted it to fall. We cleaned up the limbs and logs from this tree and around 11:00 we walked down the road from the campt to find a geocache alled "KOA all the way." Both days were sunny and warm but we were happy to be leaving around 1:00 to get home for some R&R.
