On the week-end of Dec 2 our Venturer Company went to Camp Carter to do a combination service/work camp. We had plan for a work camp but St Theresa's Scouts were having a Fall Camp so we decided to make it a combination work/service camp. We arrived at HQ building on Friday evening and spent the night unpacking and then watched a movie and lazed around. At 7:30 the next morning we arose for breakfast and around 9 we started to drag the broken picnic tables down to to power outlet at the corner of the MacLean building, however it was raining so hard we had to head for back inside the MacLean building where the Scouts were doing a craft on Christmas Trees so we joined them and that took us till lunch. After lunch the weather was fine again so we use the GPS's to fine the 3 geocaches (we left the candy in them) set up by Ranger Rick for the Scouts and then we finished moving the old picnic tables around. We cut some firewood for the headquarters building for the winter and then helped Robert and John do a leadership project with some of the Scouts but this was cut short as we started to have another downpour of rain. We took advantage of the big kitchen in the MacLean to cook our supper and then some of us finished painting the xmas tree crafts. The evening was spent walking around and also watching movies on the old vcr and tv. The vcr was poor quality but we lived through it. The next morning it was a quick breakfast and then cleaning of HQ because everyone had to leave early.
