On the week-end of Nov 19th some of the Venturer Company went to Camp Carter to do a combination service/work camp. St Theresa's Scouts were having a Fall Camp so we put on some activities on Saturday afternoon to give them a hand. Jullian and Jay did a fire starting project and Chris and Grant had a station on First-Aid and hypothermia. We arrived at camp on Friday evening and spent the night playing a monopoly game (Chris won) and chilling around.
After breakfast on Saturday morning we cleaned up around the 5 new posts that had been placed in the ground by Scouter Rick and his NSPI linetruck back in September. Two of the posts near the driveway were for a new sign for Camp Carter and the other 3 were to place Beaver, Cubs Scouts and Venturer symbols on. After this we cut some firewood for the headquarter building for the winter and then after lunch we did our stations with the scouts. Around 4 in the afternoon we did a reveiw of some compass work with one of the trainers from Cape Breton Search and Rescue who was out to do compass work with the Scouts. On Saturday night we played monopoly, yet again, and yet again, Chris won. Afterwords we took it easy and hit the hay around 12:30. Sunday morning was spent cleaning up the Headquarter and Maclean building and we left camp around noon
