On the week-end of Nov 13/04 Ventureres from St Theresa's and Whycocomagh got together at Camp Carter for a drop-in camp. We arrived Friday evening and after introductions, chilled out playing Axis and Allies and munching out on treats.
After cooking our breakfast on Saturday morning we spent a couple of hours helping our Leaders with chainsaws cut down some trees to clear out more lots for Scotia Jam. This was the week-end that the Scouters Conference was in Baddeck and there a lot of Leaders from across the province around looking at the Camp Carter and what they could expect at the jamboree that was being held here next summer. Having these people tour the camp was a big help for us since there was lots of doughnuts and drinks around for us when we took a break from our work. In the afernoon we spent time on the "Blue and Gold Award", we taked about what our venturers companies do for activities, had a fun activity - "Put the old man in his chair", and then had some free time but since it started raining we kind of stuck to the building.
Aftert supper we spent time on looking at the Venturer Structure, and company roles and executive positions and responsibities . After this we looked at the pictures from Whycocomagh's trip to "Rave" in September and then watched the movie "Hotshoots". We finished the night off with another game of "Axis and Allies" and taught the venturers from Whycocomagh how to play it. The next morning due the poor weather we stayed inside and had a
public speaking activity where we pick paper out a hat that had different subjects on them and we had to speak on that subject for 2 minutes and then have a group discussion on it. After lunch we cleaned and washed the Maclean building and then headed back to Sydney
