Every year on the long week-end in May we attend a combined Scouts and Guide camp at Camp Carter sponsor by the Glace Bay District. The theme this year was great moments in history so we went as Greeks in the Alexander the Great Era. This year our Venturer Group went out on Thursday evening so we could set up the Garage Tents for ths Scouts and ourselves.
On Saturday we help the Scout and Guide Leaders put on stations for flag raising, wood branding and kite building. Later that evening we had campfire and hung around with friends from other Scout Troops. On Sunday afternoon there is family fair where we get to present our theme to family and friends that come to visit. Our Venturer Company set up a quiz on the Greeks Gods and gave out chocolate coins as part of this. We also set up an area for throwing javilins through metal hoops for the younger kids that were visiting. The weather was nice all week-end and on Monday after having hot dogs in the big field for lunch we had closing horseshoe and headed for home.
