Our Venturer Company once again spent the long week-end in May at Camp Carter at May Camp. This is one of the most favorite events so we always have most of our Company there. It was a wet and miserable Friday evening setting up but we got through it and spent the rest of the night chilling out in our shelter and around the camp. On Saturday we had our opening horseshoe and in the afternoon we participated in the Wide Games nad they were awesome. We also spent some time gathering and piling the wood for the evening campfire. Soccer baseball was being played a lot in the big field so we spent some time playing this and socializing with the Pathfinders and Guides.
On Sunday we attended the morning horseshoe and the had Scout's Own and a Scout's Forum. After this it was back to work and we constructed a climbing wall and hung up a cargo net in preparation for the Family Fair on Sunday afternoon. The weather was miserable so we didn't have many visitors but our project did go over well (well enough that we won a prize for best project on the Scouter's side of the road). On Monday we packed every thing up and had hot-dogs in the big field at noon and closing horseshoe at 12:30 where eight members of our Company received their Queen Venturer Pins from the Region and then we headed for home. This was the first camp we wore our uniforms at every horseshoe but we were proud of receiving Queen Venturers Crests 2 weeks before and our Queen's Venturer Scroll in Halifax the week before and after 3 years of hard work we wanted to show what we received for our efforts. It was another excellent May Camp and now since we are almost finished being Venturers we got to find a way to get back to May Camp next year
